Define your cancellation and rescheduling rules

Dictate whether an attendee is allowed to cancel or reschedule

Updated over 10 months ago

In this guide, we’ll explore how to control the flexibility given to attendees by setting limitations on when or whether they can cancel or reschedule their meetings. This feature is beneficial for businesses or teams with tight schedules, ensuring minimal disruptions from last-minute changes by attendees.

Prerequisites

  • An active Appointlet account.

  • An existing meeting type.

How It Works & Benefits

  1. Maintain Control Over Meetings: Set rules to ensure attendees can only reschedule or cancel within specified timeframes.

  2. Prevent Unexpected Changes: By restricting when attendees can make changes, you can better manage your team's schedules and reduce last-minute changes.

Setup & Configuration

  1. Access Meeting Type

    • Head to the Pages screen.

    • Click on the desired meeting type you wish to modify.

  2. Navigate to Scheduling Rules

    • In the meeting type editor, find Scheduling Rules on the left navigation menu.

    • Scroll to the page's end where you'll see options for "Allow Cancellations" and "Allow Rescheduling".

  3. Set Cancellation & Rescheduling Rules

    • Click the dropdown menu for either of these settings to adjust the timeframe. Appointlet offers a list of predetermined timeframes, but you’re welcome to configure your own by scrolling to the bottom and selecting the Custom Policy option.

If attendees try to cancel or reschedule outside the permitted window, they will encounter a display on the live scheduling page indicating that the attempted action is not permitted. This ensures they adhere to your set rules.
